Examination of techniques for detecting partial discharges in high voltage equipment within power systems analyse study
In contemporary power systems, it is imperative to utilize monitoring and diagnostic conditions to ensure the efficient and dependable operation of different high voltage equipment. Partial discharge measurement is considered a crucial method for assessing insulation health conditions compared to other monitoring techniques. By properly diagnosing, identifying, and interpreting the partial discharge signal, the advantages of investigating the partial discharge condition of high voltage equipment can be maximized. Online partial discharge monitoring, among both online and offline techniques, plays a significant role in the monitoring system by helping to minimize power system component failures. Therefore, a comprehensive analysis is essential to comprehend the advancements and patterns in theory and practice. Online partial discharge current monitoring techniques are vital for high voltage equipment in power systems. This study offers an extensive literature review of online partial current discharge monitoring techniques applied to various high voltage electrical components in power systems. Lastly, an intelligent technique that utilizes a wireless sensor board for partial discharge monitoring is presented. This intelligent framework for partial discharge monitoring can accurately estimate insulation loss in high voltage equipment and enhance the overall performance of power systems.
