Forensic Analysis of Work Relationships between Police Stations and Detectives(A Case Study of the Special Law Enforcement Command in Western Tehran Province)
The existence of certain challenges in the work relationships between police stations and detectives not only leads to the complexity and prolongation of the legal process in handling a case but also results in the waste of citizens' time and sometimes the violation of their rights. These challenges and problems, as organizational damages, also reduce efficiency. The aim of this research is to identify the damages associated with the work relationships between police stations and detectives in the Special Law Enforcement Command in Western Tehran Province.
This research is practical in nature and uses a cognitive framework in the form of a qualitative study. Open-ended interviews with experienced and knowledgeable individuals from the police stations and detectives in Western Tehran Province, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in their field, are used. Content analysis and thematic analysis techniques are employed to analyze the interview data.
Interviews with police station experts yielded 11 open codes within 3 main thematic categories of structural factors, behavioral factors, and contextual factors. Interviews with detective experts yielded 16 open codes within 3 main thematic categories of structural factors, behavioral factors, and contextual factors.
The results of the research indicate that, according to the experts' perspectives, the weakness codes in crime classification, statistical discrepancies between the comprehensive awareness system and incidents, and the unwarranted return of some cases are the most significant challenges in the work relationships with detectives.
