Twelve Tips for Medical Ethics and Professionalism in Order to Promote Anatomy Education in Dissection Room
Attending the dissecting room provides an opportunity to acquire professional identity before entering the clinical course. With the growing understanding of emotional issues along with the teaching of scientific anatomy, we will witness the training of ethical doctors. In this way, the anatomy groups, play an important role. Attention to the emotional and professional growth of medical students during the course of dissection, justifies the need to examine ethical points. Make a list, localization and promoting these key points along with the requirement to comply with the list in the medical schools can help in better education of anatomy.
Methods and Materials:
By searching medical education, ethics in anatomy, body donation, memorial service, professionalism, and dissection room behavior in PubMed, Scopus, EMBASE, Cochrane Library and Google scholar, 200 articles were extracted. By checking the quality of the articles and studying the abstracts of the articles, 50 articles were selected and studied. After extracting the key points, some professors were asked to add their opinions to the collected items. The opinions are mentioned by mentioning their name, rank and university at the end of the sentence.
Twelve tips about the better implementation of ethical principles and improving the quality of education in the dissection hall were collected.
To improve the quality of education, considering these points in the dissection rooms will be effective in training ethical doctors.
