The effects of Oxus on the agriculture and animal husbandry of the neighboring lands from the beginning of the Islamic period to the fall of the Ilkhanids
Rivers affect the climate of the region, soil type and water resources of the surrounding lands. Oxus, which is a long and full river, has effects in its area. According to what is stated in the historical and geographical sources, in the Oxus basin, the state of Khorezm basically depends on it for its existence. The two states of Khorasan and Transoxania are also dependent on it in terms of agriculture and animal husbandry.
In addition, based on the plans, methods and products of agriculture, animal husbandry, the type of livelihood and the way of life of the people in these lands were affected by it. This research, with a descriptive-analytical method, seeks to investigate the effects of Oxus on agriculture and animal husbandry in its neighboring lands, from the arrival of Islam to the fall of the Ilkhanate.
