Abstract:
The present study compared the visual features of the two thousand tomans banknote printed in 2002 in Iran and the five hundred euro banknote printed in 2002 in Europe. Given the lack of a specific model for designing and applying designs on post-revolutionary banknotes, the main issue is to examine the marginal designs, the overall design and composition, the location of the images, the way the numbers are designed and their location, the colors, the visual elements, the form, the space, the way they are composed in the design of the aforementioned banknote, and to compare the main character of the Iranian two thousand tomans banknote with the European five hundred euro banknote. The questions of this research are as follows: "Given the importance and credibility of the national currency, what are the criteria for selecting motifs and visual elements in banknote design? and "What results are obtained by comparing the visual features of the two thousand tomans banknote with the five hundred euro banknote? This research seeks to identify a method for designing banknotes in comparison with European banknotes so that it is a symbol of the credibility of Iranian money along with the features of national identity. This research was conducted with a qualitative approach and a descriptive-analytical method and was based on the collection of information, documentary data and library studies, referring to reputable scientific articles and a graphic expert perspective. The research findings indicate that after proving that the Iranian two thousand toman banknote was copied from the European five hundred euro banknote, it can be seen that the organizers of the work repeated this design method in the next series of two thousand tomans banknote to the first series of ten thousand tomans banknote and turned it into a model for banknote design.
