Criteria of visual quality assessment of urban facades in relation to social sustainability (Case Study : Fifth Nirooy-e-Havaie Street in district 13 and Miaad St. in area 19)
The lack of appropriate urban facades can significantly influence citizens’ perception of visual quality and its impact on their physical and mental well-being. Building facades are like a garment that displays the physical and visual character of an urban façade. This research aims to improve environmental sustainability by understanding the visual and physical characteristics of urban facades through the lens of social sustainability. The research method is descriptive and library-based, focusing on enhancing the visual quality and conditions of building facades. It seeks to create a clear depiction of a good façade in one of Tehran’s neighborhoods, serving as a practical guide for urban planners and designers, helping citizens achieve a beautiful city with desirable visual quality.
