The function of the institution of professional ethics in the organizational behavior of police officers of the Islamic Republic of Iran
The police, which has a deep relationship with different segments of the population, is a social and security organization that requires outstanding behavioral characteristics and practical and applied ethics for success. The institution of professional ethics provides the police with basic and practical characteristics without which the police organization will not be able to properly carry out its very important missions. The main objective of this research is to examine the functioning of the institution of professional ethics of the police in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
This research is an applied research and qualitative research in nature, which was conducted using the library method and referring to ethical sources. The statistical population of the study is the Holy Quran, the narrations of the Infallibles (peace be upon them) and the sources of ethics, sources, documents and views of the Imams of the Islamic Revolution. The research tools are also sources, texts and documents related to the subject.
Based on the research findings, the most important functions of the institution of professional ethics in the behavior of police officers are: authority and firmness in dealing with criminals and delinquents, compassion and kindness, self-esteem and lack of need and practical commitment to the law and legalism, generosity and honesty of the officers.
The police having the four basic dimensions of professional ethics mentioned will provide an efficient and popular police in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
