Religious Government: Dissemination of Justice or Denying Man's Freedom
Author(s):
Abstract:
This paper discusses the issue that whether a religious government is seeking to disseminate justice or deprive Man of his value and freedom. Emanuel Cant, the great western philosopher, maintains that religious government is not compatible with autonomy of human will, which is a needed element for morality and considered it to be a symbol of heteronomy of will and, therefore, immoral.In this paper, we have proved that the religious government is quite compatible with autonomy of human will and the faithful accept religious rule through the autonomy of their will, which is quite conformant to morality. Also, we have discussed this issue that the rule of a religious government should be just, and its goal should be implementing justice. We have pointed out that ordering justice is one of the practical rational principles, which is compatible with moral principles of Cant. As a result, religious government is upheld by human wisdom and, therefore, is moral.
