Khoms Role on Eradicating Poverty: a Case Study of Shal in Qazvin

Abstract:
There are a lot of natural or unnatural factors in society which can help to create poverty. The unbalance of incomes and costs in familie's life is the main element in poverty of a society. On the other hand lack of resources and increasing expectations have caused many barriers on the way of solving this problem. In Islam, to solve the problem of poverty has been necessitate paying some money on behalf of Muslims. This religious action is obligatory and has great important after prayer in Islam and can not be defied. Although in our society have adopted many policies to eradicate poverty through khoms, but there is little success in this regard. The only way to solve the crisis of distribution of incomes is to use the local opportunities of society in different spheres. One of these opportunities is religious payments which is a considerable resource and can bridge the class gap and eradicate the poverty. This article is a result of a field research in shal city of qazvin. Religious payments like khoms can help to eradicate poverty and promote social security. On the other hand it can contribute to promote the social life of people and change the poverty line to 60 % of the current time.
