The Relationship between School Vehicles Standards and the Stress of Elementary Student's Parents in Tehran in 2007

Based on the improper transportation condition of school’ vehicles and the rate of students’ accidents, the present paper tries to investigate the relationship between school’ vehicles standards and the stress of elementary students’ parents. The method of this survey is descriptive and the measurement instrument is a questionnaire consisting of 20 items. Standpoints of parents about the condition of school vehicles and also their stress were considered via this questionnaire which has acceptable reliability and validity. Data was gathered among 142 statistical samples through cluster sampling. The findings are as follows: There is no significant relationship between school’ vehicles standards and parents’ stress; there is significant relationship between parents’ knowledge of vehicles safety and their stress; there is significant relationship between parents’ trust to school’ vehicles and their stress; there is significant relationship between driver punctuality and parents’ stress;there is significant relationship between driver skills and parents’ stress. Equipping school’ vehicles with universal standards and monitoring the automobile industries performance as well as providing regulations for increasing level of safety are some recommendations of the present study.
