Study of the Non - Dimensional Energy and Frequency for Wind-Generated Waves in Anzali Port

Abstract:
For many years, researchers and coastal engineers attempted to identify wind-wave fields and predict their effects on shipping, fishing, coastal structures and environment. In this paper, we applied 6-years (2000-2005) wind velocity and direction data of coastal meteorological station located in Anzali port to determine the wave characteristics Hmo, Tp; to estimate wind-wave growth conditions and relationships between non-dimensional parameters. As a result, almost 83.9 percent of cases were (Duration - limited) conditions and the equations) & (estimated for non-dimensional parameters(energy, ε,duration, ζ, frequency,ν). 13.4 percent of cases were (Fetch-limited) conditions and) & (parameters of non-dimensional the equation are (χ is non-dimensional-fetch) And other cases were (Fully-developed) conditions. In addition, during this period of time, the relationship between inverse wave age U10/Cp and non-dimensional energy is Above equations are in close agreement with the equations suggested by other authors.
