Relationship of Goal Orientations with Approach to Learning among University Students

Abstract:
The purpose of the study was to investigate relationship the goal orientations with approach to learning among students. In this study 200 students were selected by random cluster sampling. The results of regression analysis showed that goal orientations predict the approach to learning. In this prediction, the performance-approach orientationwas the positive predictor of the surface-processing. The masteryapproach orientation predicted the deep- processing positively. The mastery-avoidance orientation positively predicted the disorganization. While mastery- approach orientation predicted thedisorganization negatively.
