Stress Analysis of Semi infinite Plate Under Concentrated Loading

For the 1st time Boussinesq published a paper in which a method for analyzing a semi infinite object (e.g surface of the ground) under concentrated loading was suggested. As It was mentioned in his paper the validity of the suggested equations is limited to semi infinite extent of the chosen object.In the proceeding Paper the suggested method by Boussinesq is popularized for a plate with infinite length and limit width. In order to analyze the plate, two different methods have been suggested and the results are presented. Finally the results are compared with the result of Numerical method (Done by Software).
