Man, Freedom and Education in the Philosophy of Existence

In this article the author discusses human situation in the philosophy of existence and the characteristics of existential education. The philosophy of existence is a name for the thoughts which elucidate human situations. To “existence philosophers” man is unique and has the freedom of choice. Each human being has a special history for himself which is built upon his or her various choices. The word of existence that applies only to man denotes his highest possibilities. To fulfill these possibilities, he needs special education; an education that honors pupils’ freedom of choice. This is because in the absence of freedom, there will be no uniqueness and no fulfilling of various possibilities.
