Reason and Nature of Strategic Planning and the Study of Its Current Models

Abstract:
Strategic planning provides the opportunities for organization to act according to innovative and creative approach to decide on its course of actions and have control over its future. Today in the world, strategic planning is considered a significant base for development and excellency of any organization. Today crisis is taken as a factual principle, no system can be in a state of long term, stable balance. Therefore while organization can not predict and plan exactly for future, they should be prepare to overcome many recognized threats to their vital resources and also to some unknown threats. This necessity can not be fulfilled except by strategic planning. This is an applied research article and has descriptive nature and due to different stages and conditions, documentary methods (library study) is used. From writer point of view, the primery agreement and establishment of common literatures are the beginig point for strategic planning process; the role of lower level managers and personnel along with organization top managers and commanders, strategic documents codification (task, mission, visions) and also the analysis of organization internal and external environments are among most significant stages that are necessary to be considered.
