Iranian University Websites: Link analysis Using WIF, Clustering and Two dimension mapping Techniques

This study aims to analyse the Iranian University Website links in order to identify the characteristics of Interlinking and co-linking networks of these websites. These kind of data could help to identify core websites, their level of visibility, impact, structure and link pattern. 43 websites of Iranian universities ranked in the 100 highly ranked in Web of Science were investigated. It was found that the number of website pages, the number of PDF pages and the number of ISI articles as well as some social, cultural, political, economic and language factors could increase the visibility of the sites.
