Process gap analysis for Business Process Reengineering projects: (Case study in Mapna Company)

Message:
Abstract:
This research has been conducted due to changing of organization's operating environment and the need of radical change in short time to facilitate the match between market opportunities and corporate capabilities. As Hammer and Champy found that 50-70% of attempts have been failed to deliver intended dramatic results, a preevaluation by less time and less costly from the current process demonstrating the need to execute BPR would help top management in his decision making. In this study Iran Power Plant Projects Management Company (MAPNA) has been investigated as a case study initially defined procurement system as a key process by cost/value matrix then present status of the process has been evaluated by a questionnaire survey. The main null hypothesis regarding the lack of any process gap between the present situation respect to the best practice has been rejected; a process gap has been verified.
