A study of the relationship between organizational climate and ethical behaviors among the administrative personnel of Isfahan University and Isfahan Medical Sciences University

Abstract:
The aim of this research was to study the relationship between organizational climate and ethical behaviors among the personnel of Isfahan University and Isfahan Medical Sciences University in 2010. To achieve this purpose 129 personnel of Isfahan University and Medical Sciences University were selected by classified proportionate sampling method. The research instruments included Litwin & Stringer, organizational climate questionnaire and Lussier ethical behaviors. The data was analyzed through Pearson correlation, Regression, ANOVA analysis. The reliability coefficient of questionnaires was measured through Cronbach Alpha in organizational climate (0.78) and the reliability coefficient of ethical behaviors questionnaire was measured (0.91). The results showed that there were significant correlation between responsibility, standard & conflict (P<0/05). There were no significant correlation between organization risk dimensions, structure, reward, warmth, support, identity, (P>0/05). Demographic variables (sex, university, education level) were not related to the ethical behavior (P>0/05). In addition, variables (years, work experience) were related to the organizational climate (P<0/05). Therefore, the university directors are proposed to improve the organizational climate by improving and developing communications. Participating the staff in making decision, empowering and giving the liberty act to the staff and using rewarding and protection system to the same extent, they would have the same effects in the staffs ethical behaviors.
