The Future Study; the Future Necessity of Cultural and Scientific Studies

The changes of scientific, social, and cultural phenomena are so rapid that they have brought about new challenges to the organizations. In the past, the managers of organizations tried to control the changes to reap the benefits through traditional and strategic planning. However, the turbulent environment led to the failure of their plans. "Future studies" is one of the new disciplines which can help the organizations to take the right decisions. Through Future Study, intellectual managers acquire knowledge about the future by analyzing the events and making use of creativity and genius. This kind of knowledge enables the managers to have a clear view of the future in the form of probable future, possible future, and ideal future and be able to better manage the organization by constructing several scenarios. Using an analytical-descriptive approach, the present paper expounds the elementary concepts of Future Study to point out to the development of this discipline and its difference from similar concepts.
