Proposing a new approach for maesuring knowledge management system using grey relational analysis

Regarding mass investment for capturing knowledge and improving intellectual capital on KM systems which are not necessarily effective, efficient, nor do they create value, knowledge management system (KMS) evaluation become an issue that needs to be explored. Main contribution of this paper is proposing novel approach for evaluating KMSs. Proposed approach combines two well-established managerial methodologies; critical success factors (CSFs) and grey relational analysis. This approach uses CSFs as a method to define KMS evaluation criteria and uses grey relational analysis to score and prioritize knowledge initiatives. This approach assists managers to recognize weak and strength aspects of KM implementation. Applicability of proposed approach is illustrated by data gathered of five IT-base firms which implement KMS.
