گستره ی وسیع اقیانوس ها و تنوع زیستی بالای این اکوسیستم، بویژه در جوامع میکروارگانیسم ها منبع عظیمی از تولیدات طبیعی دریایی به شمار می رود. تولیدات طبیعی دریا، ترکیبات مستخرج از جانداران دریایی است که در زمینه های مختلفی از صنعت، صنایع غذایی، دارویی، آرایشی، بهداشتی و غیره کاربرد دارند. این ترکیبات به دلیل منشا زیستی خود سازگار با محیط زیست بوده و در مقایسه با ترکیبات صنعتی عوارض جنبی کمتری دارند. امروزه در اکثر کشورها، نگاه ویژه ای به این منابع سرشار وجود داشته و مطالعات متعددی در زمینه ی استخراج این ترکیبات و اثرات مختلف آنها صورت می گیرد. میکروارگانیسم های دریایی بخش عظیمی از غنای جانداران دریازی بوده و به همین دلیل منبع مناسبی جهت استخراج تولیدات طبیعی دریا به شمار می روند. در مطالعه ی حاضر به معرفی مختصر تولیدات طبیعی دریا با تاکید بر ترکیبات استخراج شده از میکروارگانیسم های دریایی پرداخته می شود.

Today, there is an especial look for these great sources in many countries and also several researches have been conducted to study the extraction of these compounds and their diverse effects. Marine microorganisms are a huge part of marine bio-richness, and for this reason they make a suitable source for extraction of marine natural products. In present study, there is a brief introduction to marine natural products whit emphasis on the compounds extracted from marine microorganisms.

Radiodermatitis (RD) is experienced by many cancer patients receiving radiotherapy. An increasing number of these patients demand alternative natural therapies. This study aimed to review the natural products application in cancer patients who experience RD. A search of studies published from 1990 to 2020 in the databases including PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar was performed with the keywords relevant to “Radiotherapy” “Dermatitis” and “Natural Products”. Out of 73 papers obtained, 40 papers were excluded which described only protocols or were non-clinical, non-English language, or without full text. The obtained studies were discussed in detail according to the outcomes and potential mechanisms of action for each natural product. Clinically studied natural products were found to show several outcomes from non-effective to effective in diminishing various items of RD. Outcomes on the effectiveness of Aloe vera were diverse. Some trials suggest that Silybum marianum, Boswellia, Nigella sativa, olive oil, Lianbai, and Hypericum perforatum as well as some multi-ingredient products might be effective prophylactic treatments for RD. Potential mechanisms of these natural products included topical hydrating, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and wound healing activities. Results from this review shows that there are some promising natural product options for the prevention and treatment of RD via their multifactorial bioactivities. However, additional research is needed before any definitive conclusions. A larger sample size, optimum doses and duration of intervention as well as investigation of treatment effects in diverse populations and comorbid complications would also be essential in future studies.

داروهای محافظ پرتو (Radioprotectors یا Radioprotective agents) ترکیباتی هستند که وقتی قبل از اشعه تجویز شوند، آسیب و مرگ ناشی از پرتوهای یونیزان را کاهش می دهند. این ترکیبات می توانند قبل از پرتوگیری در بیماران تحت پرتو درمانی، کارکنان مشاغل مرتبط با پرتو و افراد جامعه در مواقع حوادث ناشی از پرتو کاربرد داشته باشند. اولین دسته داروهای محافظ پرتو که مورد ارزیابی قرار گرفت، ترکیبات سنتتیک حاوی گوگرد بود. یکی از این ترکیبات آمیفوستین است که در پیشگیری از عوارض مخاط دهانی ناشی از پرتو درمانی مورد تایید قرار گرفته است، اما به دلیل عوارض جانبی شدید مانند تهوع، استفراغ و افت فشار خون، مصرف آن محدود می باشد. لذا دستیابی به داروی کم عارضه تر اهمیت بسزایی دارد. در این راستا فراورده های طبیعی بخصوص گیاهان دارویی می توانند به عنوان داروی مناسب، مورد بررسی قرار بگیرند. فراورده های طبیعی مطالعه شده عمدتا از گیاهان منطقه آسیا می باشند که عصاره تام مورد ارزیابی قرار گرفته اند. مهم ترین مکانیسم پیشنهادی برای آنها خاصیت آنتی اکسیدانی می باشد، هر چند اثر محرک سیستم ایمنی با تاثیر بر تکثیر سیستم خونساز نیز از آنها گزارش شده است. این فراورده ها در قیاس با ترکیبات سنتتیک مانند آمیفوستین اثر محافظتی کمتری دارند، ولی عوارض جانبی شان نیز کم تر است. این مقاله به مروری بر تحقیقات انجام شده در خصوص این دسته از ترکیبات می پردازد و مزایا و معایب آنها را ارزیابی نموده است.

In these cases, radioprotective drugs could be used to reduce or delay the side effects and the mortality induced by irradiation. Although, thiol compounds were early compounds in these categories, administration of these agents have induced serious side effects and is limited to use clinically. The search for less-toxic radiation protectors has spurred interest in the development of natural products. Natural products have mainly antioxidant and immunostimulant activity. Cytokines and androsetendiol have immunomudulatory effects in the prevention of mortality induced by gamma irradiation in animal model. Many studies have showed herbal medicine has good radioprotective effects. Flavonoids are one of the main chemical compositions in herbal medicine with antioxidant activity. Although, these natural products had low efficacy in comparison to thiol compounds, they have low toxicity. Natural products have been always using for several types of applications by humankind for so many years. Food and medical applications have been seen very much important for such products in their original forms or reproduction in new forms. As a main resource for generating so many other compounds, synthetic derivatives have been evaluated for the essential extractions of natural products for more specified applications especially for medical core with controlled dosage medication and compounds. Therefore, recognition of potency of natural products for such specified application have been always seen as a dominant factor for undergoing further improvements in this case. Besides the original extracted essentials, modifying chemical structures could help for lead optimization of such important compounds for possible efficient cares. Indeed, lead optimization could be provided very well by employing in silico approach for potent chemical compounds up to reaching them to specified medication.

The natural product "Propolis" is a non-toxic resinous material having beneficial properties such as antimicrobial, anticancer, antifungal, antiviral and anti-inflammatory; hence gain the attention of researchers for its potential for bio-dental applications. The study aims to explore the properties and chemistry of propolis concerning biomedical and dental applications. In addition, status and scope of propolis for current and potential future in bio-dental applications have been discussed. Monosodium glutamate is a sodium salt of a nonessential amino acid, L-glutamic acid, which is widely used in food industry. Glutamate plays an important role in principal brain functions including formation and stabilization of synapses, memory, cognition, learning, as well as cellular metabolism. However, ingestion of foodstuffs rich in monosodium glutamate can result in the outbreak of several health disorders such as neurotoxicity, hepatotoxicity, obesity and diabetes. The usage of medicinal plants and their natural products as a therapy against MSG used in food industry has been suggested to be protective. Calendula officinalis, Curcuma longa, Green Tea, Ginkgo biloba and vitamins are some of the main natural products with protective effect against mentioned monosodium glutamate toxicity through different mechanisms. This review provides a summary on the toxicity of monosodium glutamate and the protective effects of natural products against monosodium glutamate -induced toxicity.

Feeling, Thinking and behaving are all influenced by the effects of depression causing a variety of emotional and physical problems in considerable numbers of people all around the world. Herein, brain chemistry plays an important role in determination and also treatment of depression for individuals. The scope of the present review article is associated with diverse synthetic protocols and significance of N,N′-linked bisindole core. The chemistry involved in making of this type of extremely rare heterocycle always of high significance for the chemists in the field of synthetic chemistry as well as in natural products. The interest becomes need when the motif exists in some bioactive natural products. A detailed discussion has been confined to the literature published till September 2022. To our knowledge, this is the first review article on N,N′-bisindole motif.

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) and diabetes mellitus (DM) are the pressing global health issue, with advanced glycation end products (AGEs) playing a crucial role in its development. AGEs are harmful compounds formed through chronic exposure to elevated blood glucose levels and oxidative stress, both of which are prevalent in diabetes mellitus. These molecules have detrimental effects on vascular function, inflammation, and oxidative stress, exacerbating CVD progression. Conventional strategies for managing AGEs are often limited by side effects and insufficient efficacy, driving the need for alternative approaches. This review investigates the intricate relationship between AGEs, diabetes mellitus, and CVD, with a focus on the therapeutic potential of natural products-particularly phenolic compounds. The review explores how AGEs contribute to the pathogenesis of diabetes-related complications and their impact on cardiovascular health. It examines the molecular mechanisms underlying AGE formation and the inhibitory effects of various natural compounds on this process. Additionally, the review assesses preclinical and clinical evidence supporting the efficacy of these natural agents in mitigating AGE-induced damage. By highlighting the significant role of AGEs in diabetes and CVD, the study underscores the potential of natural products to counteract AGE accumulation. It provides an in-depth analysis of AGE biochemistry, their sources, and the effects of different natural products on AGE formation. The review concludes by emphasizing the promise of natural compounds in reducing oxidative stress and inflammation, and thereby lowering the risk of cardiovascular complications associated with diabetes. This comprehensive overview advocates for the integration of natural products into therapeutic strategies for managing AGE-mediated cardiovascular and diabetic conditions.

زمینه و هدفامروزه فرآورده های طبیعی حاصل از ارگانیسم های زنده از جمله گیاهان دارویی (متابولیت های ثانویه) به عنوان یکی از پرکاربردترین منابع مکمل درمانی و پیشگیری در درمان سرطان پروستات و هایپرپلازی خوش خیم پروستات (BPH) شناخته می شوند. این مقاله سعی بر آن دارد ضمن اشاره ای کوتاه به این بیماری به شرح پاره ای از مهمترین ترکیبات طبیعی مورد استفاده در کلینیک با تکیه بر مطالعات بالینی بپردازد. مطالب آورده شده در این مطالعه مروری، به پیشرفت های انجام شده در تحقیقات فارماکولوژیکی و بالینی ترکیبات شناخته شده طبیعی همراه با مکانیسم های عمل و نحوه استفاده آن ها در کلینیک را پوشش می دهد.مواد و روش کاراین تحقیق یک مطالعه مروری است که در مورد فرآورده های طبیعی و مشتقات حاصل از گیاهان دارویی با کلمات کلیدی Natural products; BPH; Prostate cancer; anticancer; Clinical trials، mechanism با جستجوی مقالات در پایگاه های اطلاعاتی معتبر از ابتدا تا 2012 انجام گرفت.یافته هادر این مقاله مروری 9 ترکیب جدا شده از منابع طبیعی و گیاهان دارویی با اثرات قابل توجه پزشکی و دارویی در مکمل درمانی سرطان و هایپرپلازی خوش خیم پروستات را مورد بحث قرار گرفته است. ما برروی منابع، استفاده های درمانی در کلینیک و مطالعات بالینی همراه اثرات بیولوژیک و مکانیسم های احتمالی اثرشان متمرکز شدیم.نتیجه گیریدر طی سالیان گذشته، ترکیبات فراوانی در درمان این بیماری ها به کار گرفته شده اند. 9 ترکیب و ساختار شیمیایی فعال بیولوژیکی با اثرات قابل توجه و بسیار شاخص از این دسته مواد در این مطالعه آورده شده است. امروزه پتانسیل برای بدست آوردن و توسعه دادن ترکیبات سر دسته و راهنما جدا شده از منابع طبیعی و گیاهان دارویی، به طور ویژه در حوزه ی ترکیبات ضد سرطان، به طور چشمگیری رشد یافته است. امید است مطالبی که در اینجا تشریح شده اند، به عنوان منابع قابل اعتمادی برای متخصصان شیمی و فرآورده های طبیعی جهت بسط و گسترش طراحی هوشمند و هدفمند داروهای نوین مفید واقع گردند.

Nine considerable bioactive structures are reported in this review. Today the potential for development of leads from natural sources and medicinal plants is growing dramatically, mainly in the area of anticancer investigations.
