    Context

The current study aimed at evaluating the role of apoptosis in hair and skin conditions.

    Evidence Acquisition

In the current study, the role of apoptosis in the occurrence or treatment of the apoptosis-associated disease was investigated. Likewise, the mechanism of apoptosis pathways occurring in the skin and hair cells was also reviewed.

    Conclusions

Melanocyte and follicular epithelial cells are the most sensitive cells to apoptosis, whereas dermal papilla cells, fibroblasts, and some of keratinocytes are the most resistance cells to apoptosis. According to the current review study, novel drugs can be designed based on stimulation or inhibition of the apoptosis such as BCL2, p53 and caspase inhibitors.

    Context

Skin damage is one of the most common injuries that occur daily for millions around the world. Considering this high prevalence, developing new methods of cells and stem cell administration for healing injured skin is necessary. We discuss different new methods of stem cell and cell administration for repairing injured skin, such as skin stem cell gun, scaffolds, hydrogels, and autologous keratinocytes sheets.

    Evidence Acquisition

Many approaches are available in injured skin healing, such as traditional therapy, transplanting, cell therapy, and stem cell therapy. Skin grafting is still a standard solution to treat patients; however, there are a lot of limitations in this procedure, for example, patients with severe burns have an insufficient skin area for grafting, which is a painful procedure.

    Results

Although cell therapy approaches dissolve scarring and reduce healing time, considering its high cost, they are not used in everyday society. This article discusses different regenerative dermatology products and compares them with each other.

    Conclusions

Herein, we introduced several examples of skin cell products in the pharmaceutics market. Although these products are not well known and even some of them didn’t reach clinical trials, comparing different kinds of skin engineered products reveals appropriate guidelines for their use and entrance to dermatology market

    Background

Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection is associated with gastric and extra-gastric manifestations such as idiopathic urticaria.

    Objectives

The aim of this report was to investigate the relationship between H. pylori positivity and chronic urticaria.

    Methods

This case control study was carried out between June 2018 and March 2019. The study was conducted at the Dermatology Consultation Unit, Azadi Teaching Hospital, Duhok, Iraq. A total of 49 patients with chronic urticaria were recruited in the study. During the study period, 95 subjects were recruited as a control.

    Results

    The overall H. pylori positivity was 106/144 (73.6%). A significant association was found between family members number and H. pylori positivity (P = 0.04; OR = 1.15; CI = 1 - 1.3). The positivity was 38/49 (77.6%) positive for the patients’ group versus 70/95 (73.7%) for the control group (P = 0.7; OR = 1.16; CI = 0.53 - 2.57).

    Conclusions

The prevalence of H. pylori infections was high in the region. No association was found between H. pylori positivity and chronic urticaria. Further study is needed to explore the effect of H. pylori eradication on urticaria treatment outcome.

    Introduction

Pyoderma gangrenosum, acne, and suppurative hidradenitis (PASH) is an autoinflammatory syndrome. Up to now no case of PASH syndrome has been reported from Iran and we report the first case in this paper.

    Case Presentation

In case report, we report a 44-year-old Iranian female with PASH syndrome. Her skin manifestation was first suppurative hidradenitis when she was 16 years old, then acne 20 years ago and now PG. In addition, she had history of a mass in pituitary diagnosed as prolactinoma, hormonal problems like hypothyroidism, abnormal menstrual cycles and obesity that were not reported in previous cases of PASH. It should be noted that no sign of remission and recurrence was seen in this case after 2 years.

    Conclusions

Further studies are being performed on the reported patient to achieve a better presentation of this disease and report the case in further papers especially with focus on laboratory and therapeutic information

    Introduction

Darier’s in the gentital tract is an uncommon hereditary disease. Its clinical manifestation on the vulva is rare.

    Case Presentation

A 59 year old woman with dyspareunia and pruritus with verrocus papules on labia minor and major. Pap smear of cervix showed a low grade squamous intraepithelial lesion, but during a biopsy it was found to be vaginal involvement by Darier’s disease.

    Conclusions

Some skin diseases such as Darier may involve vaginal tract and cervix and diagnosis need special consideration by biopsy.
