The author presents a report on Ayatollah Seyyed Hossein Boroujerdi`s book of authorizations and permissions regarding his last twelve years of his life. More than 1180 of these authorizations in this book relate to hesbiyyah issues (A jurisprudential term meaning those affairs that Shari`a is not satisfied with leaving them behind), and 277 people are named as the intermediaries in obtaining that permission. The author categorizes these permissions as: oral permissions (3 cases), marginal permissions (around 200 cases), and independent permissions (most of the cases). In terms of subject of permissions, there are there groups: permitting narration of hadith (14 cases), ijtihad (becoming a qualified jurist and mujtahid) license (3 cases); and hesbiyyah permissions (most of the cases). Most of the scholars in this book had obtained only one authorization; though there are a small number of them (23 cases) who had received two permissions. This book is a noteworthy and valuable source for recognizing great figures and scholars of Shia seminaries and Marja`iyyah (Shia Religious Authorities) history in 14th Century.
