Germanium is a semiconductor with varied applications in the field of nanoscience and other fields of science. With known information about the bulk properties of germanium, an effort has been made to investigate the characteristics of germanium when it is in nanoscale size. The effective use of germanium and its compound in nanotechnology and other fields requires an intensive study of the thermo-elastic properties in nano scale. Effect of size and shape on the melting temperature, thermal expansivity, and bulk modulus has been studied for pure nano germanium. An attempt has been made to compute Young's modulus using two different formalisms. A comparative study of both the formalisms with experimental values is presented in this work. The comparative study for Young's modulus brings out the most suitable formalism for germanium nano crystal to calculate this modulus.

The aim of this work was to encapsulate garlic essential oil into solid lipid nanoparticles (SLNs) to enhance its insecticidal activity against potato tuber moth larvae Phthorimaea operculella (Zeller) (PTM) (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae). Garlic essential oil loaded into solid lipid nanoparticles (GO-SLNs) was prepared by ultrasonic-solvent emulsification technique, the encapsulation efficiency and loading capacity of encapsulated oil were determined. The morphology of produced nanocapsules was characterized using transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The chemical composition of the tested oil free and loaded-SLNs was evaluated using GC/MS analysis. The results showed that the abundance and content of the major phytochemicals did not show significant difference between free and nano-encapsulated oil when analyzed by GC/MS. Laboratory bioassay indicated that GO-SLNs was more effective than free oil on both larval and pupal development as well as it affected the adult longevity. Field-laboratory experiment was conducted to show direct and residual effects of garlic oil free and post loading against the 1st larval instar of the pest in terms of toxicity and stability. Results showed that GO-SLNs was more stable under field conditions and gave a high percentage of mortality at two concentrations used even after maximum time interval (5 days). Results of this study indicated that nanoformulation of GO-SLNs can be used effectively to control larvae of Ph. operculella.

In this paper we analyze an application of CNTFET in the design of NOT gate, in which parasitic elements of interconnection lines are considered. At first we study the time domain analysis of NOT gate without to consider the parasitic elements of interconnection lines, in order to compare the obtained results with those in which the parasitic elements are considered, showing how they limit the high-speed performances of CNTs.

In recent science Nanotechnology is a major concern for the researchers. Nanotechnology deals with the nanoparticles having a size of 1-100 nm in one dimension due to its unique size, orientation, physical and chemical properties, which are reportedly shown to change the performance of any other material which is in contact with these particles. These particles can be synthesized by chemical, biological and physical methods. But the biological approach is the most prominent approach of preparation because this method is safer than the other methods, eco-friendly, rapid and less toxic. The green synthesis was done by using the solutions of flower extract of Senna Siamea and AgNO3. Silver was chosen for this research due to its remarkable properties. A fixed ratio of plant extract to metal ion was prepared, the solution was then heated at 800W for 10 minutes, using microwave and the colour change was observed which proved the formation of nanoparticles. The nanoparticles were visualized by UV-vis spectrophotometer, which indicated that the maximum absorbance of Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) was at 443.2 nm. Also, AgNPs were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) and the nanoparticles obtained are spherical in shape. The synthesized silver nanoparticle has a strong bactericidal effect against Staphylococcus aurues and Eschericia coli.

The aim of the present study is to investigate the effects of viscous dissipation and chemical reaction on stagnation point flow of electrical magnetohydrodynamic (EMHD) field over stretching sheet by considering micro nanofluid. Contribution of magnetic field is considered in the flow field, whereas the heat convection is associated with the Brownian motion, thermophoresis and viscous dissipation and chemical reaction is incorporated in the mass diffusion. The problem is governed by coupled non-linear Partial Differential Equations (PDE) with appropriate boundary conditions. The transformed non-dimensional and coupled governing Partial Differential Equations are solved numerically using Adam’s – Moulton method along with shooting technique. The effects of the various dimensionless parameters entering the problem on velocity, microrotation, temperature, and concentration fields are studied.

Due to diverse biological activities, eucalyptus oil from eucalyptus waste leaves has tremendous applications in food and pharmaceutical industries. Since it is highly unable, hydrophobic and volatile and so easily loses its anti-microbial activity. To protect this herbal product having bioactive properties, nanoemulsion technology is the best way to encapsulate it. The objective of this study was synthesis of O/W type nanoemulsions, its characterization and evaluation of biological activities. O/W type eucalyptus oil based nanoemulsions were prepared by using sodium dodecyl sulphate, tween 20. Other physiochemical parameters viz; conductivity, pH, and antibacterial activity were also studied. UV, fluorescent and FT-IR techniques were also used. Drug release and pharmokinetic studies were also conducted. Stability of nanoemulsions was studied for 50 days.  As compared to tween 20, SDS based nanoemulsions were smaller is size. Nanoparticles were spherical in shape and maximum encapsulation efficiency of 58%. Nanoparticles were stable even after 50 days of storage. Both nanoemulsions exhibited antibacterial and anti-inflammatory activities. Pharmokinetic studies revealed that formulated nanoemulsions followed korsmeyer-Peppas model. All these observations indicated that nanoemulsions from eucalyptus oil have key potential to act as key therapeutic agents in pharmaceutical and food based industries.
