Iran's economy, on the one hand due to its location in a strategic region and also the imposition  of economic sanctions, is always dealing with various shocks that have gradually affected country's military expenditure. So, examining the effects of these threats and economic sanctions is of particular importance. Hence, the purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of shocks caused by threats and economic sanctions on the military expenditure of Iran using the BVAR model (for 1971-2019). The results show that shocks from fluctuations in oil prices, exchange rates, trade openness, military expenditure of other countries, terrorist threats and population, have a positive effect on military expenditure. But inflation shocks and tax revenues  in the early periods have had a negative effect on military expenditure. Nonetheless, in latter periods, tax incomes have had a positive effect on military spending. Yet, with the exception of exchange rate fluctuations and oil price shocks, the effects of other shocks disappear after 20 periods. Also, the similarity of the effect of the oil price shock with the GDP swings indicate that military expenditure is dependent on oil revenues. Moreover, the positive effect of other countries' military expenditures on Iran's military expending is indicative of an arms race between the countries of the region. Finally, it can be argued that although threats and economic sanctions have had an impact on the military spending, they have not been successful. Because, most of the sanctions not only have not reduced these expenditures but have also increased them.

The economic war against Iran has been going on for years, and economic defense has been charged with the responsibility to counter the enemy's economic aggression, with the aim of laying a stronger foundation for resistance to foreign conflicts. Economic defense requires appropriate tools, one of which is Fintech. Fintech is a tool that connects the two fields of economics and technology. This research has been done using library-survey methodology, examining the economic dimensions of Fintech businesses with the aim of introducing solutions to provide a model for the expansion of these businesses in strengthening economic defense with a statistical community of Fintech experts. In the qualitative stage, the qualitative model of the research with six categories of causal conditions, contextual conditions, central category, intervening conditions, strategies and actions, and outcomes is presented by the Qualitative Meta Synthesis Method. And in the quantitative stage, using the results of the questionnaire and the method of confirmatory factor analysis, a relatively good fit of the model is obtained.

Exports are vital for the growth and prosperity of any national economy. Iran is no exception and exports account for a significant part of the country’s GDP. Therefore, in order to neutralize the enemy's policies regarding Iran’s exports, it is necessary to manage the exports in such a way that it is resistant to external shocks and sanctions of the enemies, and maintains its stability. In this research, the issue of laying the foundation of a stable exports environment for the domestic strategic industries has been addressed.

    Research Methodology

At first, effective components in the formation of stable exports of strategic industries’ products were identified from 106 sources including books, dissertations and articles. And then, in order to collect comprehensive and real data, 13 scientific experts in the field of economics, business managers and exporters were also interviewed. This process continued until theoretical and data adequacy was reasonably achieved. In this process, 422 factors effective in the formation of stable exports of strategic industries’ products were identified. To classify them, Content Analysis (GT) method was used and finally, after four levels of classification, 10 effective factors were identified. In order to determine the effective and influential factors as well as the model of the research, the ISM method, which is considered as a problem building method (SSIM), was used.

Iran's defense industry, one of the country’s most productive and leading sectors in the field of science and technology,is engaged in the design and production of defense and non-defense products and technologies.According to experts, the Iranian defense industry with the mission to support the armed forces, has shown tremendous ability in this. However, due to the limitations imposed by the economic sanctions, the sector faces major obstacles in reaching its goals. As this case study’s focus is on the Iranian defense industry, it needs to include various sectors, sub-sectors, subsidiaries affiliated with the Defense Industries Organization of Iran(DIOI). The main question is what “Agility Strategies” DIOI must adapt in order to be able to reach its goals and mission? Accordingly, this study uses qualitative approach within the framework of  “Grounded Theory”,in order to identify the aspects of the Iranian defense industry and the economic environment in which it operates. It does so by studying and analyzing available documents, texts and doing interviews with experts and people with the knowledge of the industry.  A model has been designed and presented to show how to make the domestic defense industry “Agile”?. The results show that in order to make these industries “Agile” from an economic point of view, it is necessary to increase speed and flexibility. Moreover, it is of utmost importance to employ intelligence more extensively, have better foresight and increase participation of  related experts and officials.Furthermore, eight factors have been identified which have direct affect on the industry! These include few Contextual factors. Also, intervening environmental factors are known to have indirect affect on the ability of these industries to increase their agility capabilities and to be effective in their economic activities. At last, based on these findings, agility solutions have been proposed.

Start-ups play a key role in creating jobs and increasing output in a “Resistive Economy”. In today's unstable environment, start-ups have no choice but to acquire environmental information through “strategic intelligence” in order to succeed in the face of environmental challenges and adapt to change, as well as increase competitiveness. The purpose of this study is to provide a model of strategic intelligence for start-ups in the context of resistive economics. The present applied research is based on descriptive and survey method. Accordingly, the factors affecting strategic intelligence are identified and grouped in both internal and external contexts. Based on the study of theoretical foundations and comparison of previous studies, the initial model of research has been developed. The developed model has been validated and prioritized by Fuzzy Delphi Method(FDM). The results showed that business intelligence or internal intelligence and competitive intelligence or external intelligence are the two dimensions of strategic intelligence for start-ups. It is proposed that managers use the identified concepts to build and develop start-ups and increase their intelligence to help achieve the goals of a resistive economy.

Today, one of the most important issues that threatens international peace and security is that of terrorism. Since 2004, the number of terrorist incidents in the world has increased dramatically and has remained high ever since. Therefore, identifying the factors affecting terrorism is of particular importance. Some of these factors are of socio-economic (and demographic) type. Accordingly, in this study, using information from 136 countries during the years 2004-2018 and employing the panel data method, socio-economic (and demographic) factors affecting the terrorist incidents in the world are identified and their statistical significance were investigated. The results of this study using the System Generalized Method of Moment (SGMM) are: (a)- Per capita income has a non-linear and inverted U-shaped effect on terrorism; which shows that the terrorist incidents is higher in middle-income countries than in low- and high-income countries. (b)- Inflation, income inequality and level of education have a positive and significant effect and investment. Furthermore, the degree of trade openness have a significant and negative effect on the terrorist incidents. (c) The population has a positive and significant effect on the terrorism; this means that terrorist incidents are more common in populous countries. Among other socio-economic (and demographic) variables, the dummy variable of Muslim countries has a positive and significant effect, and unemployment and urbanization have an insignificant effect on the terrorist incidents.
