Mosque as a social worship center for continued dynamic life requires strong communication with the context achieved through the physical and natural human connection to the external environment. Appropriate communication between the building and the context of its formation is the most important thing in architecture .The role of between spaces in creating or making connection and detachment is important mentally and objectively to determine the quality of this relationship. Depending on the scale of the elements the quality of between spaces and their nature also varies in different conditions .The between spaces that make the connection between mosque and the outside environment various from functional structural and semantic in terms of historical development location and urban communication and it can be examined in terms of Islamic wisdom. Scale also plays an important role in these studies that can be from the macro scale (relationship of mosque with city) Midscale (the relationship between elements and spaces) and micro scale (elements of mosque) will vary. This project examines the quality of between spaces and external environment at midscale and space that visitors to the mosque experience when they are crossing the street and entering the mosque. Analyzing this link to the entrance of the mosque is restricted from the outside to entrance of seraglio. It is assumed that the outward path is in the preparation of the prayer that has an important role to get a sense of spirit of approaching the mosque. Depending on the design, sometimes this rout is formed indoors and sometimes outdoor and semi outdoor. The main question is that how functional and semantic features represent this path in modern or traditional structures. How this relationship can be explained in terms of its functional structure and its effect on the implicit meaning. The characterization of between spaces is intended as a functional tool to create the desired link between mosque and outer urban environment. Thus, the purpose of the research is to explain this relationship to improve the status of existing mosques and to improve design of future mosques. The research method is logical reasoning. It is analyzed the feature of between spaces passing through the inside of mosque from three dimensions  structural functional and semantic in twelve specimen that selected from mosque in regional mosques in Tehran in a range from traditional to modern is analyzed. After examining the structural and functional features of graft inside and outside of the mosque its implications are analyzed and they are using the semantic differentiation technique .The method of semantic differentiation for expressing someone s feelings about space and it is used with bipolar adjectives .These traits were selected according to the purpose of study to express the meanings associated with outer space of the mosque to the entrance to seraglio. Research model that developed by introducing key elements  emphasize on balancing functional and semantic structural dimensions in the formation of outside and inside the mosque .By examining the semantic differentiation graph that is divided in two group of mosques  that have modern and traditional design , It can be said that the entrance space in modern mosques by enhancing traits such as  cheer excitement and self-esteem  rather than creating spiritual and practical communication  between the inside and outside  only exemplifies a stronger physical appearance . The findings show that in the design of most contemporary mosques instead of updating the spiritual foundations that embedded in traditional patterns, the social worship function of the mosque has been reduced to the function of day. These results in the order and hierarchy of the spatial layers that bonded outside and inside the mosque. Traditional patterns are more successful in most aspects than modern ones. Most contemporary mosques rather than being a focal point for responding to people ,s  spiritual needs  are likely more at the service of side functions such as formal ceremonies .In this regard sometimes the entrance to separate halls for ceremonies is more important than hierarchy of entry and approach to spiritual function of the mosques worship. In other words in different social platforms of design innovation should not be undermine functional structural principles and implications of entering the worship space of the mosque. Rather they must have a deep and accurate understanding of meaning and concept and perform functions tailored to the needs of day in hierarchy of functions .In new structures the formation of between spaces and inside the mosque can be balanced by design arrangement .These layers of space begin from outer space and counter of the mosque and by passing through the entrance space with appropriate elements reach to the entrance layer of seraglio. Thus with respect to the spatial concepts appropriate to the spatial layers, there is a possibility of diversity   and innovation in designing the entrance to the mosque. It should be done by using green and flooring areas in harmony with the spiritual uses of the mosque and it should provide the perfect backdrop for pauses and movement in everyday   use and various events. Although in modernizing marginal functions or elements that combine with mosques .The main function should not be affected but the existence of consonant functions reinforces the role of mosque s as a center of social cultural activity. Thus new designs can follow the evolution of time and can be on the path to excellence and evolution of meaning embedded in rich architecture of Iranian mosques.

There are close relationships between hidden structures of mosques and unseen concepts embodied in Persian language and literature of Iran that show that construction of famous mosques in Iran, especially in Isfahan Style are immortal and timeless.  A question arises in this context as to what factors have led to the manifestation of unseen concepts in the architecture of Isfahan mosques objectively? In this regard, this research aims to answer the questions raised, especially in the mosque of Isfahan and tries to address the factors that led to the manifestation of the unseen in this building. The research method is the qualitative and describes the case study by introspection and grounded theory. The method refers to the unseen sources of Persian literature of Iran Hafezchr('39')s and Mulavichr('39')s lyrics to extract unseen concepts then introspective descriptions of case study are presented as internal perceptions of the manifestation of concepts in the architecture of the mosque of Isfahan. The emergence of The Unseen Nature of existence is Divine Hidden Manifestation in the mirror of architecture of the place-time of worship can be a container of intuition of unseen realms of existence. The paradigmatic allegorical immortal language of unseen architecture in Jamé Mosque of Isfahan is full of glimpses of witnesses in different periods, in desire to intuit unseen realities. In this mosque, concepts derived from the Hafizchr('39')s and Mulavichr('39')s poems as persons who have indwelled in unseen realm and speak about the realities allegorically that can be employed as esoteric meanings of architecture with their manifestation in place and time. This research is done with hope to use the unseen meanings in mosque architecture to upgrade them as reminder of unseen realities and in a higher level as unseen places.

The Saqa-Nefar are specific architecture of Mazandaran province, and the origin of their formation are date to ritual traditions of pre-Islamic periods. Currently, those are known as architecture of Ashura that are in order to protect the sanctity of water and attributed to Aboulfazl (AS). Their architecture is combination of architecture combination with semantic components in format of motifs and formation, local and structural symbols which had undergone transformation of structural and formation according to cultural context during various historical periods. The current research is seeking to answer for this question: what cultural backgrounds were due to choose Nefar for keep up Ashura event and what signs remain in those from pre-Islamic ritual architecture? This research is fundamental and theoretical research that had been done through descriptive and analytical method. Data collection is based on library source and field surveys. In regard to the research goal that it is finds Causes of evolution Nefar to Saqa-Nefar according to cultural context. The results of this research show: the cherishing of water origin from ancient ritual of Iran that it be conformed to Islamic attitudes during Islamic period. The name of the nep, existence wells, holly trees and historical geography of this region expresses signs of goddess of water (Anahita). There were two kinds of Nefar during pre-Islamic period: one type belongs goddess of water that was beside water source to worship, another type was used beside the farms to care water. Thus, from beginning, Nefar had two duties (protection and worship). For this reason, they had transferred Nefar as Saqa-Nefar during Islamic period. In perspective of physical and decoration structure are continuation of ancient temple that aligned with Shieh symbols.

The use of proportions has always been considered in traditional Iranian architecture, and especially after Islam, because of the creation of an architecture that is far from Individual Interests and the impact that has on the quality of  building conceptual understanding. The purpose of the present study is to examine the proportions in the courtyards of the historical houses of Behbahan city and to express their characteristics in order to provide a true picture of the proportions governing them and to provide a starting point for future research in the field of proportions. According to the studies that have been done so far, the architecture of major buildings and even the architecture of famous cities such as Kashan, Yazd, Isfahan and Shiraz have been used in some way, However, there has been no research on the use of proportions in the traditional architecture of smaller cities. However, examining the suitability of buildings in each area over different time periods can help to complement the architectural information of traditional buildings. And finally, by completing the information, check that the proportions used are the same or different in different regions. And basically what are the reasons of their differences and similarities. That represents a new window into Iranian architecture. The first step in achieving this is to examine the proportions in different areas. The city of Behbahan is no exception, due to its several thousand years history and its role in all historical periods. In addition, Behbahan was once a major commercial city and dock (base) of Khuzestan, Pars and port cities. And its historical texture has more than 40 neighborhoods, with many valuable buildings in terms of architecture. However, less research has been conducted about the architecture and features of traditional houses in Behbahan. And, except in books such as the Book of "Identity of Behbahan", and some travel logs and memories such as " Travelogue of  south iran ", it has not been done in detail as a comprehensive study. Hence the choice for this research. But due to the wars and wreaks that took place in the Khuzestan region, and also the warm weather conditions of the region, and also the lack of attention of organizations, landowners, unfortunately, today few of these historic houses remain, that  most of which belong to The Qajar and the first Pahlavi era. It is necessary to check the proportion in different buildings But since the house is considered as an essential part of any period building and the courtyard has always played a central role in the structure of traditional homes, This research tries to study the proportions in the courtyard of Behbahan houses. In order to answer the main question of this research, "Which of the proportions has been used in the traditional architecture of Iran in the courtyards of Behbahan houses?" To answer the above question, a descriptive - analytic method has been used in this research. Today there are many houses in the historical context of Behbahan that Mostly remained from the Qajar and Pahlavi periods. There were 31 homes available for researchers based on documents available, that 10 were selected. On the condition that in choice of samples for each period, criteria such as appropriate historical value, specific construction period, healthy architectural framework, and no interference, have been taken into consideration. Of these, 8 are listed on the National Heritage List. Firstly, using library studies tools, different types of architectural ratios and architecture of Behbahan houses are studied. Then, by gathering documents and using field studies and the direct presence of researchers in the houses, their general characteristics, including the period of construction, the neighborhood and the components of the houses, were extracted, Finally, the dimensions required for analysis were extracted from maps using AutoCAD software and based on the graphical scale size of the maps. In the last step, using descriptive-analytical method by Excel software and in some cases by geometric analysis, the data is analyzed based on architectural proportions. The results show that, Among the existing proportions used in the Behbahanchr(chr('39')39chr('39'))s courtyards in both Qajar and Pahlavi periods, most of them follow the Iranian gold and square geometry, and the 1.618 golden ratios are less of a concern for architects. In general, the use of √2 and √1.25 ratios is more commonly used in construction and measurement because of its proximity to square form and its simplicity and speed. Some homes may also had been fitted to a part of facade that is more important than other parts or has symmetry such as a porch or three-door and five-door rooms, This confirms the importance and application of proportions in the main spaces of traditional homes. In addition in some aspects, the combination of two proportions is used side by side.

The history of Islam in China began when the first ambassador of Islamic caliphate in 654 AD, gained the court of the Chinese emperor. After that Islam has been spread throughout there during a century. In this study, authors try to study about how architectural elements and spatial forms are effected from Islam or Buddhist-Chinese tradition. Then, at the first it must be clear that which symbol are predominant in architectural culture of china. After that with a comparative study with Islamic symbol and spatial arrangement it may be understand the Chinese mosque concept instead of west Asia traditional design, especially with Irano-islamic architecture. Chinese symbols and meanings revolve around good fortune, and positive elements that are inspired of Buddhism, Confucius and taoism. It is the Chinese belief that by filling their lives with lucky objects and images, they increase prosperity and happy circumstances, making their existence joyful and fulfilling. Symbols and signs have graced their architecture, language, artwork, and everyday objects for centuries. In Chinese decorative arts pictured flowers, fruits, and trees are representations for various aspects of life. Knowing the symbolic meaning of a plant enables you to understand the hidden message. Color in Chinese culture refers to the certain values that Chinese culture attaches to colors, like which colors are considered auspicious or inauspicious Most Chinese decorative art are based on its symbolic values. These symbols could be understood and interpreted and only when we do that the true meaning of the objects reveals itself. The purpose of this study is to find the genealogy of symbol between china and Islam semiotic studies. The authors discuss on symbolism in Chinese architecture and then the extent to which these symbols are used in the architecture of mosques in different parts of the country. This research is based on reviewing some mosques in china. Content analysis based on library documents and resources. Finally, the results of this research show that since the arrival of Muslims and the increasing interactions between Chinese with Muslim, monuments of temples and houses The Chinese were used as mosques, which did not include any elements of the architecture of the Islamic Mosque. With the overtime, the primary period of Islamic architecture, these mosques seem to have some Islamic symbol by adding elements such as domes, minarets and arches. Still, in these buildings, Buddhist symbols were seen. In the fourth period of the Islamic architecture of China, similar colors and elements, such as domes, arches, minarets, and nicks, were used in other mosques of the Muslim world in these mosques. Of course, in all over of the china, mosques have always remained in the same traditional and original form. Chinese architects accepted Islamic elements with their national identity the national and religious identity of China is represented in the form of colors and symbols as well as elements of the entrance of the mosques. The symbol of Buddha and Mandala among the elements of Chinese mosques is more than anyone else. Red is seen as an element of the identity of the sector to Chinese architecture in the mosque architecture. This color is not seen in other mosque ornaments. Chinese symbols have become Islamic symbols in Islamic architecture. Some of these symbols are rooted in religious symbols such as Buddha statues, dragons, Phoenix, etc. Form conversion is the most important feature of the Islamic architecture of China. The root of the transformation is a form of ethnic, climatic and geographical dependence. There is a dragon element in the native architecture of China, which has been used in mosques in China as Slimi. Islamic architecture in China can be considered as an example of a consistent architecture of indigenous symbols and the preservation of Islamic values. It is hoped that researchers in future studies will pay attention to the influence of ethnic and native components on the shape of Islamic architecture.

During the last few decades the western societies has accomplished successful projects by creative utilization of architectural technology in architectural conservation such as the Columbia Museum of Art, New Acropolis Museum, and dozens of other projects. This is while in Iran we have not been able to benefit from architectural technology in architectural conservation measures in a creative way yet. It is obvious that architectural technology in Iran has not been progressed step by step with western societies, and there is a ponderable gap in this field between Iran and the mentioned societies; but, the research problem is that we cannot even benefit from what we have from technological developments in architecture field in architectural conservation measures. This issue is important because nowadays the architectural conservation measures in Iran do not meet the current expectations from architectural heritage, and in this respect and considering the richness of this heritage in the country, we have lost and are losing many material and spiritual opportunities that we could have achieved from this potential. Accordingly, the purpose of the present research is to investigate the cause and root for Iranchr(chr(chr('39')39chr('39'))39chr(chr('39')39chr('39')))s backwardness in this field, and the question that is proposed based on this purpose is that "Why do the western countries have a more successful performance in comparison to Iran in utilizing architectural technology common in architectural conservation?" If the focus is on a wider timeframe, it is found that since the Renaissance period that is from the emergence period of modern technology and thought backgrounds in western societies, the relationship of the specialized fields with each other and with the society began to break down and consequently some challenges in the field of architecture and architectural conservation were also created for these societies. Accordingly, in the present research, firstly, the evolutions history of each of the architectural technology fields – including engineering and architecture form – and architectural conservation and evolution of the relationship of these two fields in western countries and Iran were investigated, and secondly, the type of the relationship of the specialties with the society and with each other have been focused in investigating these evolutions. The present research has a qualitative approach that has used comparative analysis research method in terms of studying the relationship between the two fields of architectural technology and architectural conservation in two different societies, and historical research method in terms of studying the relationship between these two fields in different historical sections. So, in order to answer this question, the relationship between the two fields of architectural technology and architectural conservation during the periods of tradition, passing from tradition to industry after passing from tradition to industry and the present time have been studied comparatively with a qualitative approach, historical research method, and comparative analysis from the subsets of this approach. The studies indicated that in the western societies from the early fourteenth century to the mid-nineteenth century subsequent to the evolution of architectural technology from traditional nature to industrial one as well as the evolution of architectural conservation from traditional to scientific, an undesirable relationship was gradually formed based on the compliance of scientific conservation only from the architectural aspect, and subsequently, from the technology engineering aspect. As an undeveloped product of the transition period from tradition to industry in the mentioned societies, this undesirable relationship eventually became a desirable one through the evolution of industrial architectural technology and scientific conservation by paying attention to the user and approaching the culture-oriented paradigm. This is while in Iran since the beginning of the present century and following the offhand introduction of industrial architectural technology and scientific conservation, as the transition period’s product in the West, the relationship between these two fields faced problems beyond the post-transition period in the West and resulted in breaking down of the relationship between industrial architectural technology and scientific conservation. Even after paying attention to the user and culture, no relationship was established between these two fields in the country. This problem originated from a scientific gap of several centuries between Iran and the western societies in this field and failure to fill this gap by ignoring the culture-oriented paradigm in both fields of architectural conservation and architectural technology. Failure to approach this paradigm in architectural conservation has led to the control of archeological mentality over the country’s scientific conservation and continuation of its problematic relationship with architectural technology–whether from engineering or architectural aspect – and society until now. In the field of architectural technology, failure to adopt the culture-oriented paradigm also resulted in the lack of balance and coordination between engineering and architectural aspects and between them and society. Therefore, unlike western societies, a desirable triple relationship has not yet been established among engineering, architecture and architectural conservation and between this triple and the society which, in turn, has resulted in backwardness of the country in utilizing architectural technology in architectural conservation.

Incontrovertibly, the sense of hearing is one of the five most substantial human senses. In fact, the human ear receives sound and transmits to the human brain by the auditory organs. Hence, sound can be considered as one of the key tools of human communication with each other and the environment around them. Since acoustic has a profound impact on the body, soul, and the performance of human it finds a unique place in cooperation with other sciences, namely architecture, in itschr(chr('39')39chr('39')) hundred years of existence. In accordance with this issue, one of those spaces that has a great impact on the level of performance, and sense of serenity is mosque. This is because individuals gather together in mosques in order to find a quite space away from everyday conflicts. In the past due to lack of cutting-edge technology, there were some predicament for people inside the mosque to hear the voice of speaker; however, mosques were designed in a way to have a great acoustic response on the environment. Actually the high volume of space and the large number of hard and reflective materials, somehow made it difficult for the audience to understand speech and sound. Geometric decoding of the architecture of Iranian mosques from the perspective of engineering and understanding the effective parameters of the capabilities of structures and their performance are the requirements that should be considered in order to preserve and revive these works and their application in contemporary architecture. One of the most unknown functionality features of mosques, especially in domes, are their sound status which according to contemporary knowledge does not have comprehensible engineering and even has some inconsistencies. Speech clarity and reverberation time are the main acoustic parameters of architecture that can be considered as indexes to examine audio comfort that have been influenced by a factor called geometry in the architecture of domes. In this research, jame mosque of Isfahan has been selected because it was a center of old texture of this city at the beginning of its formation at the second century AH which encompasses thousands of years of valuable structural, architectural, and artistic characteristics. The Nezam Al molk dome which is located on the south of jame mosque belongs to Saljuk era is one of the precious mementos with covered interior space decorated with break, stucco, stone, tile has been evaluated as one of the most prominent brick domes in terms of geometry and sound effects. Among the large number of studies and researches that are done in the world a very small percentage of it belongs to the acoustic science and especially the acoustics of mosques. While in this quantitative research with the help of simulation and accurate calculations of Ease 4.4 software which is one of the widely used applications in acoustic field, and according to the international standards presented in Acoustic books analyze the quality of sound and acoustic parameters in the dome the factors including reverberation time (RT), sound clarity (C50), speech transfer coefficient (STI), and audio pressure level (SPL) have been evaluated. The results show that acoustic parameters (RT is the most important) are not acceptable in the dome and need to be optimized, and owing to the fact that geometry and physical structure is inconvertible, optimization can be achieved by focusing on available materials. In contrast, Speech resolution (C50) in this space is appropriate and acceptable. In other words, mogharnas, squinches and all the introduced spaces in this model create a space that despite the inability to create an appropriate time reverberation, provides the required clarity of speech of the space. This contradictions, indicates the coordination of the components of the dome such as height, volume, squinch and Mogharnas and their effect on sound quality. In other words, transmission of sound to the upper space and exiting out of the level of the human ear as well as absorption of sound energy will assist to broadcast sound greatly and create clear audio in the space itself. As a consequence, the effect of background sound from external environments will be minimized in order to provide understandability and clarity of speech in the dome. Geometry and applied materials at the dome were designed to broadcast the sound, more reflection and stability of the sound in the atmosphere, and it is not focused on clarity of the sound. Perhaps the goal of the space designer is to enhance the sense of place by using sounds, not verbal reminders, which are merely conveying meaning and content, and background sound (without semantic connection) creates a sense of space and place. Center, south, southwest, southeast, of dome have a better position in terms of acoustic. Certainly, the acoustic study in such an important historical building is a turning point for more knowledge of traditional Iranian architecture and its preservation and continuity based on the needs of the contemporary era.
