In this paper, we show that the extant manuscripts of Shams al-Dīn Samarqandī’s logical books Qisṭās al-afkār and Sharḥ al-Qisṭās exhibit a double version of exposition of mixed syllogisms which are composed of khārijī, ḥaqīqī and mental readings of quantified categorical propositions. This duble version presents different or even conflicting judgements on those mixed syllogisms. Because of the chronological precedence of one group of the manuscripts over the other, we call these two expositions "first version" and "second version," respectively. In addition, the manuscripts of both versions are divided into two groups. In one group, at the beginning of the section of propositions, when introducing the division of propositions into khārijī, ḥaqīqī and mental, a phrase is added to the manuscripts, which is only consistent with the contents of the second version. Since in the logical tradition in the Islamic world we have found the issue of mixed syllogisms composed of the three propositions only in these two works of Samarqandī, the importance of these two versions and of the added phrase is doubled and it must be examined whether the added phrase and the second version are from Samarqandī himself or from another scholar. In the present article, we will introduce the differences between the two versions and try to explain their relationship. In the end, we will critically edit the texts of these two versions in full.

The current investigation tries to answer two questions about Metaphysics: a) Is metaphysics a science about general principles of beings, or does it ask concretely about some special beings? b) Is metaphysics in its Kantian conception, a complete rupture from Aristotelian Metaphysics,? To answer these questions, in response to the first question it is shown that the problem of metaphysics begins with the question of the general principles of beings. However, this question leads to the question of special being, i.e., the unconditioned (thinking of thinking). Therefore, the knowledge of general principles of beings is the same as the knowledge of supreme beings. After explaining the nature of Aristotelian metaphysics, by examining Kant's texts, it turns out that, contrary to the popular belief, Kant's explanation of beings is always tied to the question of the unconditioned. Therefore, according to Aristotle and Kant, metaphysics is always connected with the unconditioned.

Imam Mohammad al-Ghazali (d. 505) is the most famous opponent of philosophy among theologians of the Islamic world. Despite his claim to critique the discourse of philosophers in the field of theology, he, under the influence of the Muslim commentators Aristotle (Farabi and Ibn Sina), accepted Greek philosophical thought based on meaning and emphasized the legitimacy of logic and mathematics. He introduces the way of thinking of the theologians before him because of its reliance on the word "uncertain" and replaces the logic and method of reasoning of analogical analogy with the method of allegorical reasoning (rejection of the absent to the witness) before him In this article, we will show by explanatory-analytical method that Ghazali, by accepting the possibility of achieving his rational certainty, relied on (argumentative analogy), paved the way for the content of Sinaitic philosophy to enter Islamic theology and began to mix philosophy with theology in the Islamic world. Of course, he was not obsessed with the necessities of this acceptance, and in studying the thoughts of philosophers, he acted like his own predecessors, and suffered from a kind of confrontation with Greek philosophical thought; Accepting the method of thinking and rejecting the content due to opposition to the principles of faith and the appearance of narrated evidence

The peripatetic tradition of reading Aristotle limits divine providence to celestial bodies and maintains that, according to Aristotle, there is just divine providence per accident by celestial bodies concerning sublunary world. Alexander of Aphrodidsias in his treatise titled as “On Providence”, however, tries to give an Aristotelian version of divine providence so that it would not be in contradiction with the exaltedness of divine causes in superlunary world and would not be per accident. We, in this essay, by pointing to the roots of his Aristotelian conception of divine providence in De Generatione et Corruption and De Caelo, shall show that his specific treatment of divine providence in Aristotle is based on a peculiar theory of causation which in turn will face him with other difficulties in denying providence per accident.

Language, the most important tool for communication among human beings is generally used in spoken and written form. Speech and writing have different features to convey a meaning; we intend to define these features and find out, generally in philosophy, what kind of priority speech and writing might have had. we are going to review the status of speech-writing and their characteristics in conveying meaning, in certain modern and contemporary thinkers. since Plato was the initiator of Logocentrism, firstly we are going to discuss the characteristics of speech and writing from his point of view. Then we discuss the matter in Rousseau, Saussure and Halliday; they, assigned a higher status to speech. After that we will discuss Derrida’s point of view; by his theory the metaphysics of presence, Derrida criticized logocentrism and by his deconstruction method he took step into the decentralization path. He disproved priority in dualities like speech-writing.

In traditional societies, there is no difference between artist and craftsman, and this difference is something today. Human activities in traditional society have been considered to be based on principles. For this reason, human activities became transformed and took on a sacred character. Jewish society was considered a traditional society before the modern era. Like other traditional societies, the focus of their lives has been on revelatory teachings (Torah and Talmud). Among them is the concept of arts and crafts. The aim of the present study is to examine how art and craft developed in the Jewish tradition. Research Questions: How did arts and crafts evolve in Hebrew society? What is the importance of arts and crafts in Judaism? What spiritual etiquettes do the crafts have? Leading research collects, compiles, and categorizes material by referring to relevant sources, especially traditional and Jewish sacred texts, and then draws inferences by analyzing, interpreting, and describing the collected findings. The purpose of this study is to investigate the development of art and craft among the Hebrews. The results show that crafts in Judaism have a divine and revelatory origin. Having a crafts is very important. arts and crafts have etiquette that one must follow.

The famous Yijing, the most important metaphysical writing of ancient China, has been studied for centuries by both traditional Chinese metaphysicians of the past and modern Chinese and Western scholars. There have appeared many discussions around the word yi 易in philological studies. However, despite the Yijing being the representative of the symbolical metaphysics of the ancient Chinese, scholars either have not been concerned about the meanings of this word from a symbolistic point of view or have briefly and indifferently passed by it. Understanding the word yi is a key without which the treasure house of the Yijing will not be opened. Examining various dimensions of the character yi from a symbolistic viewpoint based on the traditional method of word-symbol-meaning (yan xiang yi), this paper explores the prime symbolical meaning of the Chinese character and discusses the relationship of the derived meanings with its symbolical aspects.

Scientists represent the world with the help of various tools and one of their most important tools is scientific models. In many cases, complex phenomena in the real world are represented by constructing simple, idealized models. Models raise important questions in the philosophy of science, but two of them are more fundamental than the others. The first is what models are basically, and the second is how models represent the world. In this paper, we mainly address the first question, ontology of models, in the context of fictionalism about scientific models, but we show that the two questions are intertwined and that the answer to the ontological question limits our answers to the question of representation. In theoretical modeling, scientists often make assumptions that do not hold in the physical world. Scientists, on the other hand, "pretend" that there are "entities" in the world about which what the model describes is true. One of the fascinating solutions that has been proposed in recent years regarding the ontology of theoretical models is an approach called "fictionalism" in which the concept of "pretend play" and "make-believe" is used to answer the ontological question.

Writings of Muhammad Ghazali had a significant impact on the religious developments of the Mughal Empire. Akbar, established a synthetic religion, called Dīn-i-Ilāhī, and by adopting policies based on tolerance towards the followers of different religions tried to resolve the conflicts between them. This provoked reactions among Sufi-scholars and the necessity of "revival" of religion turned their attention to Ghazali. We can mention Ahmad Sarhindi, Abdul-Haq and Shah Waliullah who have repeatedly cited Ghazali and two of them, Ahmad and Waliullah, like Ghazali, called themselves "renewer". The Ghazali's influence on them can be traced in these areas: An effort to compile the principles of the Shari'a and explain its inner meaning; Dealing with heresies and reviving the tradition; Establishing a parallel between Shari'a and Tariqa and criticizing those Sufis who went beyond the circle of Sharia; Opposition to philosophy; Writing works influenced by Ghazali's books.
