A Survey On Ilkhanids-Qaan Relations

Abstract:
Following the capture of Iran by Hulegu and his appointment as ruler of Iran by Qubilai Qaān, a Mongol state entitled Ilkhanid government has established along with other Mongol governments in western Asia. Although Ilkhanid government has been considered as a dependant power to great Khan theoretically, it was an independent sovereign practically. In spite of this and also far distance between these two Mongol realm, political, military, economic and cultural reasons led them toward a spread out relations between Iran and China. Consequently the Mongol dominations over Iran and China experienced a crucial period which comes from different backgrounds and elements. Present article is going to evaluate the various aspects of subject according to historical sources and researches.
