Abstract:
Khaje Majdedin Ibn Hamgar, known as Hamgar, is one of the famous Iranian poets in seventh century. In the Persian literature he is known for his judgment in comparing Emami Heravi and Sa’di. His poems are simple and easy to understand. His numerous lovely philosophical and social quatrains are among the best poetry in the Persian literature. The only edition which has remained from this poet is the edition of Ahmad Karami in 1357 by Ma Publication. The copies that were available to editor at the time of editing belonged to the publication of the Divan after the eleventh century. One of the oldest and most valuable copies of his quatrains is a copy written by his grandson (Ishagh Ibn Ghavam Ibn Majd Hamgar) in 697 AH. This copy includes most of his quatrains. By comparing this valuable copy with other manuscripts and printed copies, this study tries to focus on alterations of quatrains of this poet in various copies and explain the necessity of correcting and printing his quatrains on the basis of the oldest copies.
