The Study ofMirzaAbdullah's Poetic Art

Every poem is made up of five basic elements: affection, imagination, music, language, and form. They constitute the strong pillars of the poemand are very effective in making Persian poetry effective and attractive. They can help a poet accomplishhis mission provided that he exploits them perfectly and moderately. The present article tries to study the poetic art of MirzaAbdullah, pen-named BarqiKhooyi, against the five above-mentioned elements and to show his poetic ability, the degree of imitation or innovation, and the extent to which his poems are valid and original. It also endeavours to make readers of literary works familiar with this book of poetry, which has recently been published.
