Abstract:
The study of speeches made by Obama and the method of their presentation during U.S. electoral campaign shows that he applied some skills and techniques that other candidates lacked. Examining Obama's speeches suggests that he used hidden methods rooted in psychological communicative techniques inspired by Milton Erickson techniques and "neurolinguistic planning". This article aims at analyzing Obama's speeches in two electoral campaigns. Therefore, its main question is that how Obama could succeed in communicating with America audience and obtained the majority vote in both elections by using Milton Erickson communicative methods and techniques and "neurolinguistic planning"? To do this, the author examines some important speeches made by Obama in his electoral campaigns I terms of applied techniques to present a precise understanding of the effectiveness of Obama's speeches. While addressing Obama's use of these method, the article studies the deep impact of Milton Erickson sophisticated techniques and "neurolinguistic planning" communicative model in attracting the support of voters.
