A Jurisprudential Study on the Levelling and Destroying Graves

Message:
Abstract:
One of the distorted beliefs of the Vahhabians against the Shi''ites، and all Muslims، is the quest of levelling and the prohibition of the amendment of graves of the prophets and their destruction. lt is due to their inability to analyze the Islamic questions. Therefore، they believe that building and amending the graves are against the Islamic law. So، they try to relate it to the quest of polytheism and profanty and consider it a kind of heresy in that concern. As a result، they are against it. In this paper an effort is made to examine the concept of levelling the graves from the viewpoint of the Shi''ites and the Sunnites with regard to the versions، traditions and certain proofs. The article proceeds to explain the outlooks of both groups concerning the issue of building and decorating the graves as well es the viewpoint of the Vahhabians on this concorn، specially in the context of the graves of the prophets and the divine saints. Finally، the paper tends to invalidate their claim on levelling and destroying the graves. At the same time، the paper tends to prove that under the shi''|ites and the Sunnites beliefs building and amendments of the Prophets and the divine saints'' graves is lawful and is to respect them، not to worship them as the vahhabians believe.
