Explains individual - social functions of the military community and their impact on soft power

Abstract:
From the perspective of secular and materialist, the Iranian military is unprofessional and its current usefulness is not necessary. But from the perspective of the authors, the value system of the Islamic Republic of Iran, military service is a noble value that can meet increasing national power, especially in the realm of soft power. The main objective of the present study analyzed the individual functions, military, and explores the impact of these functions on improving the nation’s soft power. Exploratory mixed methods research design is based on Delphi method, the first step is using qualitative research methods, Military functions to enhance individual and manpower capabilities identified in the second step with a survey (quantitative research methods), and the impacts identified were verified. The results indicate that military increased soldier’s personal self-belief, boost morale, interpersonal cooperation, dating cultured people of Iran, the increased sense of territory and will increase the sense of belonging to government. These effects can play an important role in raising awareness and abilities of young people and the long term promote soft power in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
