Development a model for academic achievement based on multiple intelligence by Mediating self-concept and self-esteem: a structural mode

The study aimed to develop model for academic achievement based on multiple intelligence by mediation of self-concept and self-esteem. research method was correlation. The population of this research is consisted of all boy students in the fourth and fifth-grade school at Qazvin city in 2013-2014. Sample included 359 boy students who were selected by multistage cluster sampling method. Research instruments were Rosenberg's Self-esteem Scale, Tennessee's Self-Concept Scale and Abedi et al multiple intelligences scale. Also academic achievement of student's mean scores were obtained. The results of structural equation analysis showed that multiple intelligence on academic achievement and self-esteem had direct and indirect effects(respectively p = 0.56, p = 0.17, p = 0.103 and p = 0.079 ) and direct effect on self-concept(p = 0.155). The results indicated that the self-concept on academic achievement had directly and indirectly effect(respectively p = 0.327 and p = 0.109). In addition, self-esteem had directly effect on academic achievement(p = 0.212).. The use of this information can be used to design training programs on multiple intelligences to enhance academic achievement of students also be effective.
