Effectiveness of Group Therapy Based on Reality Therapy in Student's Aggression Regarding their Attachment Styles

Abstract:
The present study aimed to investigate the effectivene4ss of group therapy based on reality therapy in students’ aggression regarding their attachment styles. The study population was students in Karaj University in academic year 2014-2015. Volunteer sampling method with random assignment was used. 231 students completed Bass and Peri Aggression scale as well as Hazen and Shaver’s Attachment Style Inventory. 20 subjects were ruled out due to the equal scores of two or more attachment styles. 211 students with a high 50% cut off aggression acore were selected. Over all, omitting 16 subjects 56 subjects were randomly assigned in experimental and control groups. Then the experimental group received groupy therapy based on reality therapy for & sessions. Follow up assessment was also conducted. Results showed that the interaction between group and within group factors on the total aggression acore was significant. The results suggest that not considering the important role of individual attachment styles and the effect of strategies of confronting reality, as well as the students poor social interaction training of these strategies is crucial and significant.
