Message:
Abstract:
In this article, we study media policy making in IRIB by using a survey method and with a focus on media vision document. To do this and in correspondence with the policy-making stage model, the formulation of the problem and decision making were envisioned under the single title of "policy design" stage and along with stage performance, were studied a posteriori. Statistical population of this study is national media staff. The results showed that from respondent's point of view, media vision policies in the stage of policy design phase suffer from weakness in the elements of objectivity and flexibility and also the implementation of policies has faced challenges posed by the elements of training and employee’s participation. Eventually, by adopting a futuristic approach and in order to achieve the desired options to formulate the future strategic document of IRIB, paying attention to challenges such as falling audiences, competing satellite media, unskilled manpower and providing solutions with a focus on considering the needs of audience, and making the organization smaller and more agile would be necessary.
