Investigating the Pre-requisites and feasibility study of the Implementation of the E-Learning System in Higher Education

Abstract:
This research seeks to identify variables related to students, which can be taken into consideration to help the higher education institution in accepting e-learning. The research is applied in terms of purpose is methodological, and in terms of method is descriptive-analytical and survey method. The statistical population includes 16500 students of University of Semnan in three undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral degrees in the academic year of 1994-94. 380 of them were selected by multi-stage method for the study sample. The research tool was a researcher-made questionnaire, which was used in its preparation similar tools and in addition to its validity approved by providing a judgment method, its reliability was equal to 0.92. The research findings showed that students of University of Semnan have a relative readiness and more than "the least participated preparedness" for taking part in e-learning training. However, in some factors, including "motivation," they are less likely to be prepared than expected, and need to be strengthened. In addition, the findings of the research showed that the students of the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering are more likely to be e-readers than other faculties.
