The Elements of Occupation in the Curriculum

This study aims to examine the conditions for the formation of occupations and professional activities within the curriculum. This study is conducted within a qualitative framework through focus group and according to ONet conceptual model. The participants of this study include 8 individuals who are selected through purposeful sampling. The results are analyzed through the content analysis method. The findings show that in the area of curriculum there are many capacities for the formation of various occupations. Comparison of the current status of curriculum in Iran with the content model of the occupation information network with four main indicators including worker characteristics (ability, job interests, work values ​​and work styles), worker requirements (including basic skills, mutual skills, knowledge and education), experience requirements (including experience and training, skills entry requirements, licensing), occupational specific information (including title, description, alternate titles, tasks, tools and technology), workforce characteristics (Including labor market information and occupational outlook), occupational requirements (including work activities organizational context and the work context) show that in most cases it does not meet the ONet conceptual model indices. In other words, the curriculum in Iran is significantly far away from the realities of specialized professions.
