Study of knee joint kinematic changes during single leg drop landing after 8 weeks FIFA11+ program in young male soccer players
Background&
The knee positions in landing could be parameters for injury of soccer players and the preventive programs may decrease the injury of this sport. This study aimed to investigate the effect of 8 weeks Fifa11 program on knee joint 3D angles in young male soccer players in single leg drop Landing.
knee kinematic data in single leg drop landing of 24 (12 control and 12 experimental) young male soccer players acquired in pre-test and post-test. After completing 8 weeks of Fifa11 training in experimental group, the independent and paired t tests used for statistical analysis.
In pretest of training group, the initial knee flexion, knee valgus and knee internal rotation were 12.16±5.07°, 10.73±3.30° and 16.40±9.79° respectively that in posttest meaningfully were changed to 19.10±5.76°, 5.20±3.27° and 9.94±5.39°.
Considering the significant increment in knee initial flexion and decrement of knee valgus and internal rotation, it can be concluded that Fifa11 exercise program may have a positive effect in modifying anterior cruciate ligament injury risk factors..
