Identifying of learning needs of faculty members in online higher education

Abstract:
The purpose of this study is identification of faculty learning needs in online learning context. The purpose of the research is applied and from the perspective of data collection, descriptive-survey. The research population is Mehr Alborz Institute of Higher Education faculties (the first institute of higher education in Iran) who have been selected by using the full census method. The research instrument was a researcher-made questionnaire. For analyzing the data, a single-variable t-test was used. The Findings show that the faculty learning needs consist three categories: pre-teaching needs (motivation for e-learning, professional commitment and ethics, technical skills, updating resources and teaching methods, developing creativity in the e-learning context); During teaching (time management, evaluation over the course of time, providing feedback, interacting and communicating in an e-learning context, directing students to research) and after teaching (final evaluation, communication with the student upon completion of the course), from among which Pre-teaching needs are very important.
