Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of cognitive hope enhancing training on reduction of academic procrastination in secondary high school boy students city of Sanandaj (academic year 2014-15). This has been an experimental research with a pre-test, post-test plan and a control group and follow up stage. The Lay procrastination Scale were used as a research tool. The intervention method was based on a model that Lopez and Snyder (2003) presented. So first 40 students (20 experimental, 20 control) were selected using random clustering sampling and then randomly divided into two 20-person groups, (an experimental group and a control group). The experimental group was taken under cognitive hope enhancing training during 8 sessions (each 90 min) and 1 session per week, while the control group was not.
