Answering Albani's Spurious Argumentson Hearing of the Dead
Muslims generally believe that the dead can hear the speech of living people. However, some Wahhabi scholars such as Albani have denied hearing of the dead and the book entitled "Ayatul Bayyiniat fi ‘adm sama’ il Amwat 'inda al-Hanafiyah al-Sadāt” makes the same assertion. In the annotation of this book, Albani mentions some of his important arguments concerning dead hearing which we have touched upon and dealt with in this study. It has been proved that those who deny the possibility of the dead possessing this faculty do not have sound and correct understanding of religious teachings concerning the soul and the intermediate life. In view of Albani's contradictory words, this conviction (i.e. negation of dead hearing) derives from an ontological perspective, one that is rooted in sensationalism and empiricist thoughts.
