Syntactic Representation of Verbs “xastæn, tævanestæn”

In this article, we try to represent syntactic structure of Verbs “xastæn and tævanestæn” in Persian. First, since there is no agreement on modality of such verbs taking inflection, we try to adopt an appropriate desicion on this subject based on their semantic and formal classificatins. Then, considering syntactic and semantic behavior of peripheral modal verbs “xastæn and tævanestæn”, we try to draw a conclusion about the controversial subject whether these verbs are control or raising and finally, we conclude in Persian, propositional modals, whether epistemic or root and whether internal or external participant are raising and nonpropositional modals are control structures .
