Psychological functions of faith in Quran and Sonnah with emphasis on Mutahhari's works

The study of the Psychological functions of faith is one of the most important issues that have attended by philosophers, theologians, Psychologists and sociologists. According to Quran the criteria of humanity are three that is: faith, Knowledge and virtues behavior. These sides have mutual effects. The purpose of this article is to study the psychological functions of faith in life according to Islamic works. The research question is: what are the psychological functions of faith in life according to Islamic works with emphasis on Mutahhari's issue? In this study the functions of faith has analyzed in psychological demine, after the study on the general essence of it. This study revealed that the religious faith as one side of trinity sides of criteria of humanity in Quran, beside the Knowledge and virtues behavior, can make the true life and immortality of him. The faith cans much effects and blessing in cognitive, psychological and behavioral domains, if it be honestly and inner one. It can create good life in this word and next world and body and spiritual health. According to Islamic sources and with emphasize on Mutahhari,s works, some of the most important effects and functions of faith in human life are: optimism, unity of personality, discernment, hopefulness, spiritual quiescence, spiritual freedom, to increase the suffer of life, to obtain the transcendental pleasure, desertion from self-alienation, self-knowledge, popularity, to create the responsibility, pure life and eternal salvation. So, man and society can receive to these special effects throw religious faith in the way to obtain the true life and happiness in this and next world.
