Analysis and Evaluation of Public Participation in Neighborhood Development Using Topsis Model (Case Study: District 6 of Tehran)
Neighborhoods, as the smallest unit of urban divisions and cells that form the urban fabric, always play a special role in the urban planning system. Because neighborhoods together give meaning and identity to the city, many cities today face neighborhood crises and problems. District 6 of Tehran, with its characteristics such as the age of the area, business situation and physical and managerial problems, is facing different problems, and therefore the approach of citizen participation in the development of neighborhoods is one of the processes that can have significant effects. Play in the growth and improvement of neighborhoods. In this regard, the present study uses descriptive-analytical and applied methods to analyze and evaluate people's participation in neighborhood development using the Topsis model in District 6 of Tehran. The statistical population of the present study consists of experts in the fields of political geography of urban management with a sample size of 35 people. In the present study, five criteria were examined: the level of participation in the management of neighborhood affairs, participation in maintaining the green space of the neighborhood, participation in urban decisions, informing the managers of neighborhood problems and the level of neighborhood development. The results showed that areas 1, 2 and 6 have almost the same and high participation rate and in the meantime, District 4 and then District 5 have the lowest level of participation in District 6 of Tehran.
