Effectiveness of Quality-based Therapy and Emotion-based Therapy in Psychological well-being of Patients with Type 2 diabetes
The purpose of this study was to compare the effectiveness of treatment based in quality of life and treatment based on emotion regulation on psychological well-being of patients with type 2 diabetes. The present study was a semi-experimental study that was conducted in pre-test, post-test and follow- up with two experimental and one control groups. The study population included patients with type 2 diabetes in Dubai city during the spring and summer of 2019 referred to the Iranian hospital in the Dubai city. Therefore, 45 patients were selected randomly and randomly divided into two experimental and one control group (15 subjects in each group). The interventional program of the experimental groups was performed in 8 sessions of 120 minutes. The control group did not receive intervention during this period. Data were collected by Reef Psychological Well-Being (1980) and Walker Health Promoting Lifestyle Profile (1987). Data were analyzed using univariate Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA). Findings showed that treatment based on quality of life and treatment based on adjustment of emotion had significant effects on psychological well-being of patients with type 2 diabetes. However, there was no significant difference was observed between these treatments.
