Presenting the Native Model of Factors Affecting the Creative Activities of Students in Mathematics(A Phenomenological Study)
The purpose of the present study is presenting a native model of factors affecting the creative activities of students in Mathematics
This qualitative study was conducted by a phenomenological method. The statistical population of this research includes Mathematics teachers of high schools in Tehran and Mathematics professors. Samples were selected purposefully from the population. Data collection method was semi-structured interview. After conducting 16 interviews, when we found repeated items, we announced the interview saturation. In order to check data reliability, four criteria of belief ability, reliability, transfer ability, and validity were used. Four-stage qualitative content analysis was used for analyzing the data
According to the findings obtained from data analysis, 5 themes with 19 categories were extracted as factors affecting the creative activities in Mathematics, including: teacher (personality traits, expertise and professional ability, attitude, teaching method, and class management); curriculum and training (objectives, content, teaching method, evaluation, grouping and materials and resources); comprehensiveness (personality traits, motivational traits, cognitive ability, and valuation system); family (emotional atmosphere, attitude and parenting style of parents); execution environment (learning space and participation). The native model was developed according to these factors
Taking advantage of the findings of this research can help planners to develop future plans
