Abstract:

The purpose of this study was to develop a model of causal behavior of cheating, based on goal orientation, self-efficacy and ambiguity tolerance (through the mediation of personality traits). The purpose of this study was Fundamental and in terms of method, a descriptive and correlation. The statistical population of the study included all male and female students at the Azad University of North Tehran in the year 1395 in the field of psychology, whose number was 500. A sample of 217 individuals was selected through simple random sampling using the Morgan table. For data gathering, Weyl & McGregor goal orientation questionnaire, Sherer general self-efficacy questionnaire, McLane's ambiguity tolerance questionnaire, academic cheating questionnaire and Hexaquo's personality dimension questionnaire were used. Findings showed that goal orientation and self-efficacy had a direct effect on student's fraud behavior (p <0.05); however tolerance of ambiguity had no direct effect on student's fraud behavior (p> 0.05). The results of the indirect effects of the sub-indicators of the objective orientation (with the mediation of personality traits) on the behavior of cheating showed that learning orientation (with the mediation of the extraversion component:(p <0.05); orientational tendency (through the intermediation of components of integrity and Externality (p <0.05); The orientation of escape performance by mediating components of integrity, agility, extraversion, chastity, conscientiousness: (p <0.05) has a indirect effect on fraud behavior, but uncertainty in goal orientation by mediating any of the relevant components in behavior Fraud does not have an indirect effect (p> 0.05). The results showed that self-efficacy indirectly impacts indirectly through the intermediation of all components of integrity, agility, extraversion, chastity, conscientiousness, and openness to experience in fraud behavior (p <0.05). Finally, the results also showed that the tolerance of ambiguity only indirectly impacts the extroversion mediation on fraud behavior (p <0.05). The results of this study indicate that there is a relationship between cheating and personality traits. Therefore, attention to personality traits of individuals is necessary for understanding the phenomenon of fraud in them and preventing fraud.
