Assess of the knowledge, attitudes & skills of technicians working in Pharmacies in Ahwaz City Accordancing with World Health Organization Standards and Providing Appropriate Educational Modular

Human health is one of the most important aspects of medical care. The pharmacy is the most accessible member of the health services group. The aim of this study was conducted to assess the knowledge, skills and attitudes of Ahwaz pharmacy technicians according to World Health Organization standards and provide appropriate educational modules.

This study was a descriptive survey and the statistical population of the study (720 technicians), a researcher-made questionnaire of knowledge assessment, skill, and attitude of the pharmacist's technician with very low and low options. Medium, high, and very large, were randomly distributed among 250, but only 130 completed questionnaires were completed. Then, the data collected by SPSS24 software were analyzed in two sections: descriptive statistics (Frequency indicators, mean, standard (deviation) and Inferential statistics (one-sample T test, ANOVA and Scheffe  post hoc test) were analyzed.

According to the results of statistical tests, the level of mastery of technicians based on self-report in the questionnaire in terms of knowledge, skills and attitude was significantly higher than the expected average (p˂0.001); There is no significant difference between the average scores of technicians based on the field of study in the variables of knowledge, attitude and skill(P> 0.05); But there is a significant difference between technicians in terms of experience in the average of knowledge, skills and attitude (P≤0.001).

In general, the results of this study showed that pharmacy technicians, as providers of pharmaceutical services, have created a very big problem in the human resource sector for the treatment and health staff and especially for patients. In order to solve this problem and to prevent the occurrence of human catastrophe, it is necessary to think about a deep and fundamental revision.
