Examining Accounting Curriculum Developments: Case Studies of Technology (Information System) and Data Analysis
The purpose of the current research is to investigate the information system and data analysis in the accounting curriculum, the above research is practical and it is addressed with four main questions and thirteen sub-questions. Recently, accounting professionals have emphasized the need for accounting students to have technology and data analysis skills to succeed in the accounting profession. In order to meet this demand, accounting schools with additional credit should include at least information technology and data analysis skills in their curriculum, which requires the approval of the Ministry of Science, and several researches should be done in this regard. We report the results of a survey of accounting professors and administrators about their experiences integrating technology into the curriculum, including their views on the state of implementation and challenges, as well as their current program proposals. We found that the current accounting curriculum does not adequately explain information technology, but the integration method, as well as the courses available, vary among programs. Our findings and discussion should be of interest to accounting professors and managers, the Ministry of Science and all accounting researchers.
